Rib Knit Fabric

Two yarns of same counts but in different colors are twisted together. Among these 2 colors, one color will be in the lighter shade and the other will be in the darker shade.

Description

Rib knit fabrics have good elasticity and shape retention, especially in the width.

We can make sweaters, scarf, cap, socks, and winter gloves; also it can also be used as a neck-hem for t-shirts

Rib fabric can also be made in Viscose, Cotton Viscose, Cotton Linen, Modal, Cotton Modal, Polyester Cotton, Polyester Viscose, Lycra etc

1*1 and 2*2 are two of the common rib knit types

Description

It is a knitted fabric with alternating raised and lowered rows. More elastic and durable than plain knits, they tend to fit the body and are used frequently in T-shirts, as well as for the trims of socks, sleeves, waists and necklines.It has a vertical cord appearance making it twice as thick than plain knit with greater dimensional stability.

There are 2 basic types of rib knit fabric based on the sequence of knit and purl stitches. The 1×1 rib has a sequence of 1 knit and 1 purl stitch, while the 2×2 rib knit has 2 knit and 2 purl stitches sequence.
