Poplin
A tightly woven plain-weave fabric (usually a light weight cotton) characterized by a corded surface. A durable fabric, poplin is usually made of cotton but can also be silk, wool or synthetic blends. It does not wrinkle much and is popular for making shirts, dresses.
Description
It is a fine warp yarn woven with a thicker weft yarn and so it is produced as a strong material but soft to touch.
Poplin can also be made with fibers such as wool, cotton, silk, rayon, polyester or a mixture of these.
Poplin fabric is a special material to make shirts. Shirts made from this material are easy to iron and do not wrinkle easily.
It can also be made stretchy if it is woven with spandex.
